Somango Fem Strain Review

Jack Herer went out for a walk one day and came across a Super Skunk. The two of them hit it off like gangbusters and one day, out on one of their walks they ran into Super Skunk Korean. The three of them got along so well they gave the rest of us their lovechild, Somango. A strain so nice you want it twice is what smokers of this indica dominant hybrid say.

This strain was first bred by Soma Seeds in Arizona and originally called Soma #5. Strangely, this flavorfully titled strain seems to have flown under the radar and not garnered any international awards of distinction. Future awards may be just around the corner but that shouldn’t deter you from sampling this strain today. Ten out of ten smokers love Somango Fem strain the first time they try it and you will too.

Both novice and experienced cannabis growers will love watching Somango Fem strain seeds grow right from the first push past the top layer of soil. True to its Arizona roots, Somango likes hot days with lots of bright sunshine. It will tolerate humid conditions well though. Regular trimming is a good idea to keep the air flowing inside the branches of the plant and help in preventing molds or mildew. Upon entering the vegetative state of growth, Somango likes to show off with wide spade shaped leaves that end in sharply pointed tips.

Although the strain is indica dominant which would normally mean stout bushy plants if given lots of room and good care, these plants reach reported heights of up to eight feet tall although the average height range is four to five feet. As harvest season draws near and the evening temperatures begin to cool off the natural occurring anthocyanins begin to trigger blue and purple streaks of color in the leaves. The buds grow fluffy and look as if they were dusted in confectioners' sugar, giving them a shiny crystal coating.

If you have ever grown your own cannabis seeds at home you understand the sense of anticipation that comes with the hobby. The excitement begins when the first green shoots emerge from soil. Anticipation grows as the plant stretches to the light and spawns more and more branches. Then comes the waiting and watching for the first evidence of a flower growing and the sense of relief as more and more flowers start to show. It is then that you can take a breath and rest assured you are just a short nine to ten weeks away from harvest of fresh smokable Somango flowers.

Growing marijuana seeds indoors gives cultivators the unique advantage of complete environmental control. Somango can grow very well in an indoor environment provided proper care and attention are paid to the plant. Let’s be real though, anyone who has ever grown marijuana at home understands the propensity to fuss over the plants. Paying that little bit of extra attention to Somango rewards cultivators with a bountiful harvest of crystal coated resinous buds. Expect an ndoor harvest range in the one to one a half pound range.

Somango thrives in a semi humid climate with daytime temperatures consistently in the seventy to eighty degree Fahrenheit range. Showing its physical strength and good genetics when grown outdoors, this strain has been reported to grow as high as eight feet. Undoubtedly from the influence of its partial parent Jack Herer. Trimming of the inner foliage and larger leaves is recommended to keep airflow moving throughout the lower reaches of the plant which will aid in the prevention of molds and mildew. Take good care of this lady and she’ll give you as much as one and a half pounds come harvest time.

A jack of all trades but master of none is what comes to mind when speaking of Somangos medicinal benefit. Normally, a statement like that would seem off putting, however, in this case it should be viewed as a compliment. Somangos innate ability to lift moods makes it a great choice for individuals suffering from depression and anxiety. A focused, creative high is very beneficial for attention deficit disorders or avoidant behavior disorders. The stress of the day is no match for this strain and chronic pain melts away quickly after the first toke. Somango’s analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties are potent enough to relieve most body pains and headaches. Patients undergoing cancer treatments find it excellent at reducing nausea and stimulating an appetite.

Luckily Somango doesn’t come with many negative side effects apart from the usual complaints experienced by cannabis consumers in the USA. Most commonly reported are slight paranoia or anxiety but symptoms are mostly mild and almost always related to the user’s level of experience with THC. Mild dizziness or headaches may happen with overindulgence. Keeping a glass of orange juice on hand can negate any negative effects you may experience.

Despite being indica dominant, Somango produces some very sativa-like effects. Not one to rush things though, the effects are slightly delayed and tend to creep up on you. The familiar feeling of pressure behind the eyeballs and tightening of the temples is the telltale sign the fun is about to start. Break out the paint or drawing pencils because the creativity flows strong but retains a clear-headed focused nature allowing smokers to engross themselves in mindful projects or engaging conversations. Indica effects take the stage as the high works its way through your system and people suffering from insomnia find it aids in falling asleep and staying asleep.

For those lucky enough to have visited the tropics, you will recognize the scent of mangos in the air. A soft, subtle scent of sweet richness that lingers and continues to please the olfactory senses long after the joint has been smoked. Combine that with earthy, sour overtones and you have yourself a very pleasant smelling strain with Somango.

The name implies it all with this fruity strain. Tease your taste buds with essences of tropical mangos. Somango is so much more than just that one fruit though. Complex flavors of sweet berry and vanilla layer over even deeper flavors of spice and tree fruit. First time smokers are pleasantly surprised with the flavors and old school smokers have come to cherish the consistent sweet tropical flavors and we are sure you will too!

As you know by now, Jack Herer is one of the parents of Somango. Most likely a key contributor to the focus high that comes with it. Jack Herer is a sativa dominant cross of Haze x Northern Lights #5 x Shiva Skunk that produces a cerebral high that bestows smokers with creative energies perfect for a day out on the town or a day spent in the garden. Sticking with the sativa dominant strains, fans of Jack Herer and Somango will also appreciate Super Skunk Fem. Similar energizing effects lend well to creative projects that require focus. This strain has a very pungent, skunky aroma with earthy flavors that match.

Critical x Somango Fem brings a much more indica dominant effect for smokers of this strain. Best used for days off when you have time to lounge on the couch. Mood leavening qualities compliment a full body relaxation perfect for rainy days or movie nights at home. The high lasts long and closes out with heavy eyelids leading you off to a peaceful sleep.

When you wake up from that dreamy sleep and need a boost to get you going then Green Crack x Somango won’t let you down. Known to produce enough energy to have you running laps around the track before breakfast and laughing with friends while you do. The simple combination of Green Crack with Somango produced a sweet tasting, euphoric buzz to go along with all that energy.

Last but definitely not least, Cinderella99 x Somango is a balanced hybrid powerhouse that treats back pain, cramping, muscle tension and headaches, as well as symptoms of ADD.

Arguably the strain name is actually its nickname. Somango was originally named Soma #5. For unknown reasons the strain name changed to the name we use today, however, smokers that have been around for a while may recognize it by its original name. Undoubtedly, Somango’s other nickname garners as much attention as its outdoor growing height. It is not often you run into any plant strain with the nickname the likes of The Beast. Don’t let that fool you though, Somango is firmly a lover not a fighter.
