Today, we’re taking a closer look at Missouri marijuana laws, along with how many plants you can grow, how you can get your hands on your favorite seeds, and the go-to way to get your seeds to germinate.
Ready to learn more? Let’s dive in.
First, let’s begin with the most obvious questions: Is marijuana legal in Missouri? What about marijuana seeds?
Missouri has yet to decriminalize recreational marijuana, though recent legislation appears to be moving in the right direction. In November 2018, the state passed Amendment 2 to legalize medical marijuana.
Now, certified patients can purchase up to four ounces of marijuana every 30 days. The state’s Department of Health maintains the right to exercise control over this amount as long as the patient’s total supply can last at least 60 days.
The state permits medical marijuana patients to cultivate up to six flowering plants at home, or any facility that’s both locked and closed.
Still, cannabis seeds are totally legal in Missouri, because they’re considered a souvenir item. This means you can legally order them online and have them discreetly delivered to your doorstep in a matter of days.
Next, let’s take a look at the best way to germinate your seeds once they arrive!
At i49, we stand behind our products. This includes the germination rate of our seeds. If yours fail to germinate after following these directions, let us know. We’ll send you enough replacement seeds to equal an 80% germination rate!
The best way to ensure your seeds have a great shot at making it? Follow these instructions as closely as you can.
Step-by-Step Germination Guide
First, soak your seeds in a cup of distilled water, pushing them down to the bottom with your fingertips to make sure that all of the seeds are fully submerged.
Wait 14 to 18 hours and then pour the contents of the cup, including the water, onto a dye-free paper towel folded on top of a plate. Cover the seeds with the paper towel and make sure they stay moist.
Place the seeds in a cool, dark room and give them time to open. This can take anywhere between two and seven days to happen, so be patient! If your seeds begin to feel dry, spritz the paper towel with more water to keep it moist. Soon, you’ll notice a tiny taproot begin to form. Let it grow between .5 centimeters to 3/4 of an inch long and then transplant it.
If your seeds fail to germinate after a week, they might be too dry. As an emergency procedure, you can dump them back into a cup of distilled water, leave them in until a taproot forms, pour our the contents on a clean paper towel and start the process all over again. This time, you’ll only need to let the taproot grow to about 1/2 of an inch before you transplant it.

When you’re looking for cannabis seeds in Missouri, you don’t have to limit yourself. We offer a wide variety of strains, from Indica-dominant ones to Sativas and even Hybrid strains that combine elements of each.
Indica strains are best if you’re looking for a mellow, chill vibe. These are both relaxing and relieving, delivering powerful soothing effects that can help alleviate a range of health conditions. The only two conditions that don’t mesh as well with Indica are chronic depression and bipolar disorder.
Some of the most popular Indica cannabis seeds that we offer include:
You’ll most often enjoy Indica strains at night, when you’re ready to drift off to dreamland in the best way possible.
On the other hand, Sativa strains are your go-to pick-me-ups when you need a little boost of clarity and creativity. Most often dedicated for daytime use, these can leave you feeling inspired and ready to take on the world. They’re a great fit for almost everyone, though people with anxiety or insomnia should avoid them.
A few of our best-selling Sativa strains include:
Wish you could combine the best parts of each strain? With hybrid cannabis strains, you can do just that!
These are great for everyday enjoyment and provide a range of benefits. Plus, they’re usually easier to grow! Their genes are more stable than others and they’re able to withstand even the most adverse weather conditions. This makes them great plants for beginners.
Take your time and browse our wide variety of strains. From sun-up to sundown, we can keep you feeling great all day long.
When you want to start your crop as soon as possible, a traditional, slow-growing plant can test your patience. For instance, most Indica strains can take up to nine weeks to flower after germination. What’s more, Sativa strains can take 10 to 16 weeks to flower!
While the result is more than worth the wait, we understand that sometimes, you want to be up and running a little quicker. That’s why we keep plenty of auto-flowering seeds in stock. Though these are a little shorter and smaller than other seed types, growing to only around two to three feet, you can squeeze more of them into your space. This can expand your yield and allow you to plant as many as possible!
